Al Ahly members Head to Polls to Choose New Club Board

Voting began on Friday in Al Ahly Sporting Club’s elections, with members casting their ballots to elect a new board of directors that will lead Egypt’s most popular football club for the next four years. Polls opened at 9 a.m. at the club’s main headquarters in Cairo’s Al Gezira district and are scheduled to close at 7 p.m.

Members streamed in throughout the morning to take part in what many see as a pivotal vote shaping the club’s future.

Al Ahly’s management said it had taken steps to ensure a smooth process, including setting up special pathways for elderly voters and people with disabilities, as well as guidance committees to assist members in finding their polling stations. Shuttle buses were provided to transport voters from all club branches to the main venue, with additional parking made available at the Omar Makram, Opera and Teachers garages.

Traffic flowed smoothly around the club premises as authorities implemented logistical measures aimed at maintaining order and reflecting the stature of one of Africa’s most decorated sports institutions.
