El Khatib inspects swimming complex work at New Cairo branch

Al Ahly president Mahmoud El Khatib inspected the start of construction on the club’s new swimming and services complex at its New Cairo branch, part of a broader development plan aimed at enhancing facilities for members.

The project is a key component of the club’s long-term infrastructure strategy, approved by the board of directors to better serve the general assembly.

El Khatib received a detailed briefing from board engineering consultant Eng. Sameh Ali Kamel on the first phase of the project, which began with excavation following topographical surveys, soil testing, and the arrival of heavy equipment.

The complex will cover more than 14,000 square metres. Plans include an Olympic-size swimming pool (50x25 metres) suitable for hosting club competitions, as well as open access for members to engage in recreational swimming and aquatic activities.

The facility will also feature a children’s water play area and a comprehensive services hub with 10 changing rooms and a health club.

Additional features include a karate hall, a table tennis hall, and several administrative and support offices to meet members’ needs.
