Al Ahly Condemn the Participation of Zamalek’s Suspended Youth Players

Alahly, Egyptian Premier League, Football

Al Ahly sent an official letter to the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) on Saturday, demanding the implementation of the rules and regulations as well as the decisions issued by EFA’s appeal committee.

The club made sure to emphasize the necessity of implementing the sanctions of EFA’s appeal committee, which suspended Zamalek's youth players: (Ahmed Eid – Sief Farouq – Omar Yasser – Yehia Moftah – Seifeldin Sayed) for eight games and imposed EGP100,000 fine on each player due to their obscene chants following the end of their youth league game against Al Ahly.

Also, Al Ahly pointed that the suspension should start from the date of the decisive match between Al Ahly and Zamalek, which the EFA scheduled on 26 May at El Sekka El Hadid Stadium.

Thus, the participation of Zamalek’s youth player, Seif Farouq, against Talae’e El Gaish in the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday violates those rules and regulations.

Additionally, the club relied on the second clause of Article 5 of the competitions' regulation which states: a player who is suspended for one or two matches in any youth competition, whether he is registered in it or promoted, is subject to suspension in the same competition, and he shall not play in any other competition unless he finishes his suspension. If the competition, in which the player is suspended, ends, he shall continue his suspension in the competition to which he is promoted.

Thus, in light of EFA’s decision, which is holding a decisive game to determine the champion of the youth league, this confirms that the competition has not ended and the aforementioned players are not eligible to participate in the Egyptian Premier League unless they finish their suspension.

Additionally, Al Ahly reiterated that the participation of any of the aforementioned players violates the rules and regulations of the competition and that the club intends to preserve its rights in the competition and will not neglect to gain those rights under any circumstances, in accordance with the rules and regulations.
