Pitso Mosimane, Al Ahy’s football first team head coach, spoke after our team managed to win the bronze medal of the FIFA Club World Cup with Al Ahly for the second consecutive season. 

In his post-match interview, Mosimane conveyed his emotions following the team’s 4-0 victory over Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia in third-place playoff match of the competition.

“This medal is better than last year’s medal. We came here in Abu Dhabi with several injured players. So, that’s why for me this one (bronze medal) is special.”

“The next step from now is the CAF Champions League because we want to come back here. We know the way to come back here because we won the previous two CAF Champions League titles.”

“This medal is good for the team, good for Africa, good for everyone. We have the spirit and we fought against all odds.”

“Al Ahly supporters have been supporting us in the past and not only now. They supported us when we lost to Palmeiras.”

“We have to try to win the gold medal in the future even though it’s difficult to come here but we will try to do our best.”
