Our Eagles defeated Wydad Casablanca 3-1 on Friday night in the CAF Champions League semi-final second leg to win the tie 5-1 on aggregate.

We had a perfect start to the game as Marwan Mohsen opened the score just seven minutes into the game after receiving a perfect assist from El Souliya. The assistant referee's offside flag did not stop Marwan Mohsen who took the chance and put the ball in the back of the net.

The offside decision was reversed as the match referee checked VAR and allowed the goal to count.

The second goal was a masterpiece from the team. The goal started from our goalkeeper El Shenawy who cleared the ball to Dieng who received it and put a tremendous effort that resulted in a perfect assist. Hussein El Shahat received it perfectly and found himself one against one with Wydad defender. El Shahat had a chance to score but he preferred to dribble the defender twice before putting the ball in the back of the net.

The third goal came after 15 minutes from the second half thanks to a perfect header from one of the best players in the game, Yasser Ibrahim.

Wydad’s only goal in the game came 8 minutes before the final whistle by the Moroccan winger Zouhair El Moutaraji.

The solid performance in the semi-finals took us to the CAF Champions League final for the 13th time in our history.

We are one step away from winning our beloved trophy and our Eagles are waiting the winner between Zamalek and Raja Casablanca to challenge for the trophy.
