Al Ahly File Complaints against Offensive TV Channels and Presenters

Alahly, Football

Al Ahly filed several complaints on Saturday to the Supreme Council for Media Regulation against El-Hadath El-Youm TV, Ten TV, and Zamalek’s TV presenter Khaled El Ghandour.

Al Ahly filed a complaint against El-Hadath El-Youm TV and Ahmed Gamal, the presenter of “Fi El Goal” program, which is aired on the channel, and its content is directed only against Al Ahly, the club’s officials, and the club’s fans. The program’s presenter and his chosen guests, who are known for their offensive intentions against Al Ahly, are used to insulting the club during the program’s episodes, in a clear violation of the media code of ethics.

The aforementioned presenter and his guests use the program to incite sedition and division between football fans.

This continuous offensive behavior did not find any response from the channel’s officials despite the fact that the program’s directors hired air time from the channel, which is another violation of the law that prohibits TV channels to sell air time to avoid misuse of media.

Moreover, the club also filed a complaint against Ten TV and Eslam Sadek and Mohamed Farouk, the presenters of “Al Primo” program, which is aired on the channel.

The above-mentioned presenters and Reda Abdelaal, a permanent guest of the program, used to insult the club’s board and mock Pitso Mosimane, our head coach, and deal with the statements coming from the club’s officials in an offensive manner, despite that most of the club’s statements are issued only to clarify the Al Ahly’s stance on different topics and to defend the club’s rights in a legitimate way, without any insults to other clubs.

Al Ahly also repeated the complaint against Khaled El Ghandour, presenter of Zamalkawy program, which is aired at Zamalek TV, as the presenter continues to issue offensive statements against the club and its officials.

The club attached several videos that show El Ghandour and his guests insulting the club. This is not the first time that the club files a complaint against El Ghandour, whose program was banned before by the Supreme Council for Media Regulation but such a decision did not put an end to his offensive behavior.

Therefore, Al Ahly assigned the club’s legal representatives to sue all the violators against the club, the club’s officials, and fans as well as addressing the associations, who are responsible for issuing licenses to these channels to investigate their offensive behavior.
