Al Ahly President Captain Mahmoud El Khatib spoke about the difficulties that the club faced during the last season, especially in the CAF Champions League competition. 

"We all promised to do our best to win the ninth African title this season, especially after losing two consecutive finals."

"We faced a lot of difficulties, which developed even more by the people who caused them."

"We dealt with these difficulties with great wisdom, as we do not reply to such minor issues."

"I directed the board members not to respond to these irrelevant matters. We will only reply with hard work and success, as each board member has a specific responsibility. But in the end, we work in an organization and we take the decision together to make sure that it will be for the club's sake."

"We work as a family and we all have one goal. Lastly, I would like to thank them all for their efforts."
