A home victory over Petrojet

Alahly, Egyptian Premier League, Football

The Reds secured a well-earned 2-1 victory over Petrojet in the Egyptian Premier League at Al Salam Stadium, claiming three important points despite a late goal from the visitors.

From the start, the Reds pressed high and created multiple chances. In the 15th minute, Mostafa El Aash set up Emam Ashour, who unleashed a powerful strike past Petrojet’s goalkeeper to give Al Ahly a 1-0 lead.

The Reds continued to push forward, with Nejc Gradišar and Afsha coming close to doubling the advantage, but the first half ended with a 1-0 lead for the Eagles.

Right after the restart, Emam nearly scored his second but couldn’t find the back of the net. In the 67th minute, Mohamed Abdullah, who had replaced Hussein El Shahat, delivered a perfectly timed pass to Gradišar, who calmly slotted it home to make it 2-0.

Gradišar found the net again in the 80th minute with a well-placed header, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

In stoppage time, Petrojet’s Ahmed Farouk pulled one back, and then the final whistle was blown, confirming Al Ahly’s 2-1 victory.

After the match, Emam Ashour was named Man of the Match but chose to hand the award to Mostafa El Aash in recognition of his outstanding performance.
