A goalless draw against Petrojet

Alahly, Football

Our friendly match against Petrojet, which was held on Monday afternoon at El Tetsh Stadium, ended in a goalless draw.

Our coach, Pitso Mosimane, used the game to give playing time to players who returned from long injuries and many of the club’s youngsters, as well as Ammar Hamdy and Ahmed Abdelkader who returned to the club after spending the last season on loan.

The game witnessed few chances during the first half and our most dangerous play came after 30 minutes when Mahmoud Wahid dribbled past the opponent’s defender, sending an accurate cross to Walid Soliman. Soliman’s header went over the bar.

In the second half, Mosimane made many changes to the line-up of the first half as Arabi Badr was the only player that kept his place in the team after the break.

Many of our youngsters had their chance in the second half, during which our players kept pushing in search of the opening goal in the game.

We were close to breaking the deadlock after being awarded a penalty, 20 minutes before the final whistle.

Ahmed Abdelkader’s shot from the penalty spot was saved by the opponent’s goalkeeper to keep the draw.

The remaining minutes went by without any change in the result and the game ended 0-0.
