Akram Tawfik, Al Ahly’s football first-team midfielder, will begin a new phase of his recovery program in Qatar on Saturday after undergoing a successful knee surgery in Austria.
Tawfik arrived in Doha on Thursday and underwent a medical check-up in Aspetar Hospital under the supervision of Manual Baba Costa, an orthopedic surgeon.
Tawfik tore his ACL in January while participating with the Egyptian national team in the Africa Cup of Nations.
