Al Ahly’s Danish coach Jess Thorup expressed his delight after winning his first title with the club, just weeks after taking charge of the team.

Al Ahly president Mahmoud El Khatib congratulated the club’s first football team players, along with the coaching, administrative and medical staff, on winning the Egyptian Super Cup for the fifth consecutive time and the 16th in the club’s history.

Al Ahly lifted the Egyptian Super Cup on Sunday after defeating arch-rivals Zamalek 2-0 in the United Arab Emirates, securing the trophy for the fifth consecutive season and the 16th time in the club’s history.
