We were crowned as the club of the year in the ceremony of CAF Awards 2023, which was held by the CAF in Marrakech, Morocco, ahead of Wydad and Mamelodi Sundowns in the competition to win the title.

We were awarded after lifting our record 11th CAF Champions League title which was accompanied by winning Egyptian Premier League and Egyptian Cup and Egyptian Super Cup.

On our way to winning the Champions League last season, we played 14 matches, winning 9 matches, drawing 3 and losing only 2 matches. Our players scored 27 goals against 10 goals conceded.
