Al Ahly appoint Dutchman Langeler to lead youth development
Al Ahly have appointed Dutch coach Art Langeler as technical coach for the club’s youth sector on a three-year deal.
Langeler, 55, brings a wealth of experience in youth development, having previously served as Director of Development at the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB), head coach of the Netherlands Under-21 team, and academy manager at Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven.
The appointment follows a review of several candidates by Al Ahly’s sporting director Mohamed Youssef, who said the club was seeking a profile with deep expertise in youth systems and long-term player development.
Langeler’s arrival is part of a broader strategy by the Cairo-based club to strengthen its academy infrastructure and build a sustainable pipeline of talent for the first team.
