Al Ahly's first-team claimed the bronze medal in the FIFA Club World Cup after defeating Palmeiras of Brazil 3-2 on penalties in the third-place playoff game.

After playing three matches in our sixth participation in the competition, the Red Eagles are now sharing with New Zeeland’s Auckland City FC the record of the team with most games played in FIFA Club World Cup, 15 matches each.

Al Ahly played 15 matches, having equalized Auckland City FC’s tally, while Real Madrid come in second place with 12 games.

The Red Eagles secured 5 victories to become the African team with most wins in the competition's history.  Also, we come in third place behind Real Madrid, who won ten matches, and FC Barcelona, who won seven matches.
