Al Ahly women's handball team opened their African Handball Championship League campaign with a commanding 34-21 victory over Kalara Yaounde of Cameroon on Saturday.
The Group A match was held at the Mohammed V Arena as Morocco hosts the 46th edition of the continental tournament from 11 to 20 October.
The Red Eagles, dominated from the outset, taking a 15-8 lead into halftime before maintaining control in the second half to secure a comfortable win.
The Egyptian giants will face Morocco’s AS Nouasser in their second group stage match on Wednesday.
