First Team, Al Ahly in World Cup, Football

Al Ahly's first-team achieved a precious 1-0 win against Al Duhail SC and reached the FIFA Club World Cup semi-finals for the 3rd time in history.

The Red Eagles are set to face the European champions, Bayern Munich, in the semi-finals on Monday.

We will meet the Champions of Europe for the first time in our six participations in the competition.

Al Ahly secured the first qualification to the tournament's semi-finals in our second participation in the Club World Cup in 2006 after defeating Auckland City FC of New Zealand 2-0, thanks to goals from Flavio Amado and Mohamed Abou Trika.

We played against the Copa Libertadores champions, S.C. Internacional from Brazil, but unfortunately we lost 1-0.

Al Ahly faced Mexico's Club América in the third-place playoff and we sealed the bronze medal after defeating the CONCACAF champions 2-1, thanks to Abou Trika's impressive brace.

We reached the semi-finals for the second time in 2012, after defeating the Japanese champions Sanfrecce Hiroshima 2-1, thanks to goals from Sayed Hamdy and Mohamed Abou Trika.

We faced Corinthians Paulista of Brazil in the semi-final and despite being the better side of the game, we lost 1-0.

We finished the tournament in the fourth place after losing against Mexico's C.F. Monterrey in the third-place playoff 2-0.

After defeating Al Duhail SC tonight, Al Ahly reached the FIFA Club World Cup semi-finals for the third time in history, thanks to El Shahaat's screamer.
