
Al Ahly men’s basketball team departs for Rwanda ahead of BAL finals
Al Ahly’s men’s basketball team departed Cairo for Rwanda to participate in the sixth Basketball Africa League (BAL) Finals, which will be held in the capital Kigali from 22 to 30 May.
The Red Eagles are aiming to win the title for the second time under the competition’s current format in what will be their third appearance in the tournament.
Al Ahly’s squad includes Ehab Amin, Omar Tarek, Amr El Gendy, Ahmed Aboul Ela “Bibo”, Zach Lofton, Jonathan Jordan, Kevin Murphy, Osayi Osifo, Nuni Omot, Youssef El Ghayesh, Amr Zahran and Bibo Zahran.
The technical staff is led by head coach Linus Gavriel and includes team manager Tarek El Ghannam, general coach Ahmed El Garhy, assistant coach Rami Diasty, performance analyst Yasser Abdallah, team doctor Salah Ragab, physiotherapist Ahmed Hassan, masseur Mohamed Reda and fitness coach Sherif Mohamed.
The administrative staff completed all travel arrangements, accommodation bookings, transportation and training venue preparations ahead of the tournament.
