Al Ahly’s women handball team advanced to the semi-finals of the African Women’s Handball Championship in Morocco with a 40-30 win over Benin’s Flowers in the quarter-finals on Thursday.
The Egyptian side held a narrow 17-16 lead at halftime before pulling away in the second half to secure a 10-goal victory.
Al Ahly opened their campaign with a 34-21 win over Cameroon’s Kalara Yaounde, followed by a dominant 47-17 victory against Morocco’s Ittihad Nouasseur.
Thursday’s win sealed their place in the final four of the continental tournament.
