Ambassador Meky: We are Very Happy for Al Ahly’s Presence in Niamey 

Egypt Ambassador to Niger Nabil Mekky stated that Niger’s officials are very glad for Al Ahly’s presence in Niger, as they all appreciate Al Ahly’s prestigious and historic value. 

“We began the coordination for Al Ahly’s trip very early, as I contacted the club’s board member Mohamed El Damaty and Al Ahly’s Director of Football Sayed Abdelhafiz. We communicated daily to coordinate all the procedures in a very professional manner, which is a normal habit for Al Ahly.” 

“Al Ahly attracted wide attention here in Niger, as they are the current title holders, besides to their record of winning the CAF Champions League for 9 times.”

“AS SONIDEP officials and all the football fans in Niger were very happy when they knew that they will face Al Ahly in the round of 32 in CAF Champions League. This is the first time for Al Ahly to visit Niger and that reflects the wide popularity of the African Club of the Century.”
