Al Ahly’s President Captain Mahmoud El Khatib said that supporting Moamen Zakaria is Al Ahly’s duty. 

Moreover, Captian El Khatib added that our player Zakaria had an important impact on Al Ahly; especially that Zakaria scored a lot of decisive goals for the club. 

During his visit to Zakaria’s house, Zakaria informed Captain El Khatib that one of the happiest moments of his life was when our fans went to his house to send him a message of support.

Our beloved player Moamen Zakaria is suffering from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

Additionally, Captain El Khatib said that Zakaria is one of the faithful players that represented the club, and supporting him is something essential. 

"Momen Zakaria is one of the most talented players. He scored a lot of brilliant goals which showed his great abilities.”

“There is an intention to send him to England to continue his recovery and I wish him a speedy recovery."

“Al Ahly’s spirit is what makes the team win trophies. This was shown when all our players supported Zakaria and dedicated the trophies which we won to him.” 

“Al Ahly is always there to show support when needed. Our representatives are also in contact with the family of Mohamed Abdelwaheb, who passed away while playing for Al Ahly in 2006.”

 Lastly, Captain El Khatib confirmed that Al Ahly paid Zakaria his full contract after receiving legal approval.
