Al Ahly men’s handball team was held to a 28-28 draw on Friday night against Zamalek SC in the final fixture of the Egyptian League.

With that result, the two teams will face each other once again on Monday in a decisive match, which will crown the winning team as the champions of the competition.

Dr. Hassan Moustafa Sports Hall witnessed an elite performance from both teams. Zamalek SC took an early lead but our players fought to narrow the gap in the score, ending the first half 16-13 for the opponent.

In the second half, the Red Eagles dominated the game and outclassed their opponent, thanks to the solid defense and the amazing saves of our goalkeeper, Abdelrahman Taha.

Our players were consistently threatening with waves of attacks to find cracks in the defense and Mohsen Ramadan, Islam Hassan, Osama El Geziry, Ahmed Hisham Sisa, and Omar Samy managed to find the target on many occasions.

The last minutes of the game saw much excitement but the match ended in a draw, forcing an additional game to be played in order to decide the league champions.
