Our assistant coach Sami Komsan spoke following the team’s 1-0 victory over AS SONIDEP in the first leg of the CAF Champions League round of 32.

Komsan stressed the importance of the team’s victory in the opening match of the 2020-2021 CAF Champions League competition.

“The opening matches in the big competitions are always important and we know that all our matches will be difficult. All our opponents will put on their best performance when they are playing against us, due to the fact that we are the champions of the competition.”

“The pitch wasn’t in the best condition today, which made the match more difficult for us. However, our players managed to overcome all the tough conditions that they faced and came out victorious.”

Also, our assistant coach praised the team’s unity in today’s match, stating that all the players that participated in today’s match played in the best possible manner, given the match’s overall atmosphere.

Lastly, Komsan commented on the postponement of the Cairo derby against Zamalek, saying that the coaching staff will meet with Mosimane in order to discuss the plan for the upcoming period after the postponement of the game.
