Trezeguet: It Is Always Great To Be Back at El Tetsh

Alahly, Mahmoud El Khatib, Tenth Star, Football

Mahmoud Trezeguet, our former player and the current winger of Premier League side Aston Villa, showed up at the club’s premises in Gezira and attended the club’s training session.

Being back to El Tetsh brought so many great memories for Trezeguet and the club fans, who were happy to see Trezeguet again at El Tetsh, where he started his professional career with football.

We sat with Trezeguet to check on him as he is now in the recovery process from a serious knee injury.

“I am so happy to be here at El Tetsh and to watch the first-team training. It is always a great feeling to be back home. All the memories got back to me once I entered El Tetsh. Here is where everything started for me.”

“I am not just a former player at Al Ahly. I am a die-hard Al Ahly fan and it is a great honor to be connected to the Club of the Century. I was brought up at the club and inherited the values of winning, which helped me very much during my time in Europe.”

“I received a call from the club’s president Mahmoud El Khatib to check on my condition after the injury. El Khatib has always been supporting me and I am so happy with that. Also, the players and the coaching staff are in touch with me, providing full support in this difficult time.”

Trezeguet left the club in 2015 to start his journey in Europe. He has been dazzling the fans of the premier league since 2019 with Aston Villa. However, he is still following his childhood club’s journey on both domestic and continental levels.

“I always follow Al Ahly’s games and I believe that this group of players can win the CAF Champions League title this season.”

“I still remember Afsha’s goal against Zamalek in the Champions League final. I was so happy with the goal and I broke my iPad.”

“When Al Ahly won the bronze medal in the FIFA Club World Cup I was so happy and I told my teammates the next day in training that my childhood club won the bronze medal in the club world cup.”

It is always happy to see our boys doing great in the biggest leagues in the world. We wish Trezeguet a speedy recovery.
