Mosimane: We Deserve to be in the Club World Cup Semis

First Team, Al Ahly in World Cup, Football

Al Ahly’s football first team manager, Pitso Mosimane, spoke ahead of our upcoming match against FC Bayern Munich in the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup.

During his pre-match press conference, Mosimane stated that it will be a historic and a crucial game, but it won’t be the most important game in the club’s history.

“We deserve to reach the semi-finals of the tournament, after beating Al-Duhail SC in the quarter finals. Also, we are the African champions and we deserve to be here in this place.”

“You have to enjoy everything that you do. We play football to enjoy it and be successful at it. Also, we are fully aware of how excited our fans are for this game.”

“I believe in my team and I have faith in them. However, I know that my players do mistakes and so does the players of FC Bayern Munich. This is football all over the world.”

“Football is about learning from your mistakes in order to avoid repeating them again in the future."

“All clubs receive criticism and on a professional level we respect and accept that very well. You have to be realistic and recognize your own mistakes in order to learn from them in the future.”

“We have great determination to move forward and achieve our goals. Moreover, all African football clubs would like to be in our place and participate in the FIFA Club World Cup.”

“We play during COVID-19 pandemic, and we currently live inside a medical bubble. We hope that everyone is well and healthy. However, we play football and we won’t stop from doing so.”

“Of course these are difficult circumstances, yet we are able to adapt. I hope that we find a solution to COVID-19.”

Lastly, Mosimane concluded the pre-match press conference by stating that he used to live inside a medical bubble for six months, while he was in South Africa.
