Mosimane: We missed a lot of chances

Al Ahly’s manager, Pitso Mosimane spoke following the team’s goalless draw with National Bank of Egypt SC in the Egyptian Premier League.  

In his post-match press conference, Mosimane talked about the reasons behind tonight’s draw.

“We missed a lot of chances in today’s game. Mohamed El Shenawy, Al Ahly’s goalkeeper, didn’t receive any crucial chances from our opponent. Moreover, we weren’t lucky today.”

“I respect the decision of the referee and I always look for reasons to why my team wasn’t able to score.”

“It was clear that we had possession; however, that wasn’t enough to score goals. Also, our crosses were not executed in the best possible manner, which is due to our players being under pressure.”

“I took the decision to start with Walid Soliman because of his amazing performances in the last couple of games. However, he was injured and I had to take him off.”

“I am not worried about Al Ahly, because we create a lot of chances. Bwalya always tries to score. He might be under pressure, but in the end that’s football.”
