Volleyball: Al Ahly SC gears up to host Women's African Clubs Championship

Al Ahly SC is ramping up preparations to host the Women's African Clubs Volleyball Championship, scheduled from 11 to 24 April, with 24 teams from across the continent expected to compete.

The club’s Supreme Organizing Committee met at its headquarters on Saturday, chaired by board member Mohamed El Ghazawy and vice-chair Ahmed Hossam Awad.

The session reviewed all organizational and administrative aspects of the tournament, including team arrivals, hotel arrangements, and daily transportation plans.

Egyptian Volleyball Federation President Eng. Yasser Qamar attended the meeting, along with federation executive director Hassan Abed and tournament director Khaled El Awady, joined by heads of the organizing committees.

Security measures were discussed in detail, covering both indoor arenas and club premises, in coordination with relevant authorities.

Plans for the opening ceremony, its program segments, and the official tournament logo were also finalized, underscoring Al Ahly’s status as a leading African club.

El Ghazawy said the club is deploying its full organizational capacity to ensure the championship runs smoothly.

“Our aim is not only to host a successful tournament but to set a professional standard for continental championships,” he said, praising the staff working together to achieve that goal.
