Al Ahly's board delegation welcomed the men's and women's first-team handball squads at Cairo International Airport following their return from Angola, where both teams were crowned African Champions League winners.
The delegation included board members Mohamed El Ghazawy, Mohamed El Damati and Ibrahim El Amry, as well as the club's executive director, Khaled Morsi.
Al Ahly officials congratulated the players, coaching staff and administrative and medical teams on the historic achievement, with both sides claiming continental titles and further underlining the club's standing in African handball.
Al Ahly men's team won the African title for the ninth time in the club's history and a fourth consecutive year.
The women's team secured their second African title after beating Angola's Primeiro de Agosto 21-20, completing a double for the Egyptian giants as both squads returned home with their trophies.
