Mahmoud El Khatib, Al Ahly’s president, used the annual iftar ceremony to honor Al Ahly fans, stating that the club fans are the common element in all the club’s successes throughout history.

During the ceremony, El Khatib unveiled a unique crystal shield with “The Greatest Fans on Earth” written on the shield, which will be displayed at the club’s trophies cabinet.

“Thank you for accepting our invitation tonight. We are more than happy to have you all at Al Ahly and I wish you all a Happy Ramadan.”

“Today is a special occasion as we are only a few days away from celebrating the club’s 115th anniversary, which is a unique occasion to honor our fans, who played the biggest part throughout the history to make our club great.”

“The fans are the main factor behind the club’s successes throughout the last 115 years. Our fans have always been behind the club in the good moments and the bad moments.”

“Today we decided to use this occasion to celebrate our fans. We are presenting tonight a special gift to our fans which is a special shield. This shield will be displayed at the club’s trophies cabinet beside the biggest trophies and cups that we won in our history.”

“Our fans are the backbone of the club, the protector of the club and they deserve the biggest appreciation.”
