Al Ahly secured a 1-0 victory over El Gouna FC in the 18th week of the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday.
The match, held at Cairo International Stadium, took place on the first day of Ramadan.
Al Ahly dominated the majority of the match, launching quick attacks and creating continuous pressure on El Gouna's goal.
In the second half, substitute Marwan Osman missed a golden opportunity, firing over the crossbar, while another effort from substitute Hussein El Shahat struck the post.
The victory goal of the game came in the 35th minute, with Emam Ashour heading in a cross from Achraf Bencharki.
With the win, Al Ahly’s points tally increased to 33, while El Gouna FC remained on 20 points.
