Al Ahly doctor provides injury update on squad ahead of Ceramica game

Al Ahly’s first-team squad continued preparations in Nasr City ahead of Friday’s Egyptian League Cup clash with Ceramica Cleopatra, while key players undergo rehabilitation from recent injuries.

Club doctor Ahmed Gaballah said defender Kareem Fouad is continuing physiotherapy as he recovers from a sprained anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament, sustained while representing the national team at the Arab Cup.

Gaballah held a dedicated session with Fouad to monitor his progress, alongside regular medical checks. Midfielder Mohamed Magdy Afsha is also undergoing rehabilitation to ease calf muscle pain he experienced during the Arab Cup in Qatar.

His program includes running drills around the pitch and targeted exercises prescribed by the medical staff. Meanwhile, Al Ahly are closely monitoring Ashraf Bencharki’s recovery.

In coordination with the Moroccan national team’s medical staff, the forward is undergoing regular physiotherapy and progressing steadily following a hamstring tear sustained prior to the tournament.

Despite the injury concerns, Al Ahly remain focused on preparations for their encounter with Ceramica, combining tactical work on the pitch with ongoing support for their injured players.
