Al Ahly face Arab Contractors in Egyptian League Cup

Al Ahly are set to face Arab Contractors in the fourth round of the Egyptian League Cup group stage at El Salam Stadium on Tuesday.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 1500 GMT (1700 local time).

The tournament was introduced in the 2021-22 season and is played during international breaks, with clubs from the Egyptian Premier League taking part.

Modern Sport FC won the inaugural edition, while Ceramica Cleopatra have lifted the trophy in each of the last three seasons.

The current edition features 21 teams divided into three groups, with the top two from each group and the two best third-placed sides advancing to the quarter-finals.

Al Ahly are in Group A alongside Ceramica Cleopatra, Ghazl El Mahalla, Arab Contractors, Pharco FC and Talae El Geish.

The Cairo club opened their League Cup campaign with a 1-0 defeat by ENPPI before beating Ceramica Cleopatra and then losing to Ghazl El Mahalla last week.

The Egyptian Premier League is currently on hold as the national team compete in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco from 21 December to 18 January, 2026.
