Al Ahly players undergo tactical session as Ali Mahmoud resumes training
Al Ahly’s first-team squad continued training at the club’s Mokhtar El-Tetsh Stadium in Gezira on Monday as the Red Eagles prepare to face Asyut Petroleum in the Capital Cup on Wednesday.
Head coach Hussein Ammouta held a brief tactical meeting with the players before training began.
The session included a series of physical exercises, followed by specialised drills and an intense small-sided game.
Meanwhile, Ali Mahmoud took part in training despite the squad being given time off following the conclusion of the national team’s latest camp.
The player opted to attend the session and continue his training programme as he prepares for the upcoming period.
Al Ahly’s medical staff, led by Dr Ahmed Gaballah, said Yasser Ibrahim was in the final stage of his rehabilitation programme after suffering a sprained medial ligament and a torn lateral ligament in his ankle.
The defender is continuing his medical and physical rehabilitation ahead of a return to full team training.
Karim El-Debes has also begun the second phase of his rehabilitation and physiotherapy programme as he recovers from a groin strain.
His return to full team training will be determined by his response to the rehabilitation programme.
