Al Ahly resume training ahead of Smouha clash
Al Ahly’s first football squad resumed training on Monday evening at the Mokhtar El Tetsh Stadium in Gezira as the team stepped up preparations for their upcoming Egyptian Premier League clash against Smouha.
The Red Eagles’ players returned to training after being given Sunday off, in line with the schedule set by the coaching staff as part of the preparations for Thursday evening’s encounter.
The training session featured a range of physical exercises before the players moved on to tactical work.
Head coach Hussein Ammouta wrapped up the session with a competitive full-team scrimmage, in which all available players took part.
On the sidelines, Karim El Debes continued his physiotherapy and rehabilitation program as he works toward recovering from injury. The defender had suffered a hamstring strain.
Al Ahly go into the Smouha fixture on the back of a 2-0 victory over ZED FC in their previous league outing.
Achraf Bencharki and Taher Mohamed Taher scored the goals as Al Ahly secured all three points in the match, which was played on Friday evening in the second matchday of the Egyptian Premier League.
