Al Ahly’s women’s handball team secured a spot in the final of the African Club Championship, currently taking place in Morocco, after defeating Cameroon’s FAP 23-19 in Saturday’s semifinal.
The match, held at the Mohammed V Hall, saw FAP take a 9-8 lead into halftime.
However, Al Ahly came out strong in the second half, turning the game around to secure a 23-19 win.
Al Ahly kicked off their campaign with a 34-21 victory over Kalara Yaounde, followed by a dominant 47-17 win against Morocco’s Ittihad Nouasseur.
They advanced to the semifinals with a 40-30 win over Benin’s Flowers in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
The Red Eagles will face the winner of the match between Angola’s Petro Atletico and Cameroon’s Cailara Yaounde in the final.
