Alahly, Badr Benoun, Football

Al Ahly have signed the highly-rated Moroccan International Badr Benoun, as he is one of the highly recognized center backs in Africa.

The negotiations with Raja Casablanca were accelerated due to Benoun’s will to wear our jersey starting from the next season.

Al Ahly’s new player Badr Benoun had an exclusive interview with us, in which he revealed his ambitions and dreams with the African Club of the Century.

Benoun left his former team Raja Casablanca to start a new era with the Red Eagles, so here is the full transcript of Benoun's interview after officially wearing our Red jersey...

"It is a great honor for me to be Al Ahly player, and I am keen to do all my best and win more titles with the club in the future to please our beloved fans."

"Playing for Al Ahly is a big development in my career, as I rejected several offers from African and Gulf clubs just to be here."

"The negotiations lasted only for 72 hours, as both clubs agreed on all the terms and I became a player for Al Ahly. I received a call from Al Ahly's Director of Marketing and Transfers Amir Tawfiq and he told me that the club wants to sign me."

"I agreed and told him that playing for Al Ahly is a great honor for me, and I spoke with my agent and all the procedures were done easily as a result of Al Ahly's professionalism during the negotiation process."

"I refused several offers to join Al Ahly, as the club has a great history and popularity and it is very hard to reject an offer from the African Club of the Century."

"I know Al Ahly fans very well, as the only thing they want is to win all the trophies. This means that my mission here will be hard, but I promise to do my best to please them and to win all the titles in the future."

"Many North African players prefer to play in Europe when they leave their domestic clubs, but I was different as my goal was to be a player for Al Ahly. This club has a great history and won a lot of trophies.”

“Playing for the African club of the Century is a big responsibility, so I hope to get the support from all of you and to gain our fans and club's trust."
