Big win over Enppi sends the Red Eagles to Egyptian Cup Final

Al Ahly defeated Enppi 3-0 on Wednesday night at Cairo Stadium in the Egyptian Cup semi-final to reach the competition's final after another top performance from Marcel Koller's men. 

Anthony Modeste and Emam Ashour had a night to remember as they both opened their account with the Red Eagles with two beautiful goals. 

Ali Maaloul gave us the lead from the spot in the first half while Modeste doubled the score in the opening minutes of the second half and Emam completed the night with a fantastic solo goal after joining the game from the bench. 

Supported by the incredible fans in the stands, we started the game on the front foot, putting the pressure on Enppi to open the score. We were very focused and were getting forward to get through Enppi’s defence. 

The first 30 minutes were goalless until Dieng was awarded a penalty after being tackled inside the box and Maaloul converted it to give us a lead in the perfect timing. 

The second half started with all the Eagles fired up to score more goals and own their place in the final. Then came Modeste who received a pass from Mohamed Magdy Afsha in a perfect place to double the score with a beautiful finish. 

Our players created several chances but with no luck to score any of them, until Emam received an amazing cross from Maaloul, and he slotted the ball into the net after dribbling three defenders to score his first goal with the Red Jersey, and It was an awesome shot from Emam into Enppi’s net to change the score to be 3-0 for the Red Eagles. 

The score remained unchanged, as Koller‘s Eagles saw the game out well to book their place in the Egyptian Cup final.
