Al Ahly football director Wael Gomaa has decided to double the financial penalties imposed on players following Wednesday’s match.
Gomaa held an extended meeting with the squad on Thursday morning in the presence of head coach Hussein Ammouta, addressing the below-par performances of several players, who fell short of their usual technical and physical standards for unclear reasons.
He stressed that the coming period would leave no room for complacency, urging every player to reassess their performances and take responsibility for their contribution to the team.
Gomaa also made it clear that Al Ahly would not depend on any individual player, underlining the club’s determination to move forward regardless of individual absences.
