Al Ahly’s rising talent Adam Ellaithy, secured a fourth-place finish in the men’s individual kata competition at the World Games, currently being held in Chengdu, China.
The tournament is scheduled to conclude on 12 August.
At just 16 years of age, Ellaithy became the youngest athlete to compete in the history of the World Games’ karate events.
He delivered an impressive performance in the kata division, earning praise for his composure and technical skill.
Ellaithy advanced to the semi-finals following a series of strong displays, before narrowly losing to Japan’s Kakeru in a closely contested bout.
The promising young karateka recently claimed the gold medal in the U-18 individual kata category at the African Championships held last month.
