Dr Ahmed Gaballah, head of Al Ahly’s first-team medical staff, said Achraf Bencharki had complained of pain caused by inflammation in his Achilles tendon.
The coaching staff opted to rest Bencharki from training, with the player undergoing treatment as he prepares to return to full training.
Gaballah also said Karim El Debes had sustained a Grade 2 strain to his right adductor muscle.
The player will undergo a physiotherapy and rehabilitation programme as he prepares to return to action.
