Maaloul: Winning the Bronze Medal is a Great Achievement
Al Ahly’s defender, Ali Maaloul congratulated the club’s President Mahmoud El Khatib, the board of directors, the coaching, administrative, and medical staff, players, and the fans after winning the bronze medal in the FIFA Club World Cup.
“Winning the bronze medal of the FIFA Club World Cup is a great achievement that will be added to the history of this current generation. Al Ahly’s spirit, character, and the determination of the players are the secret behind that success.”
“We promised each other that we have to win a medal in the FIFA Club World Cup and we managed to achieve that by winning the bronze medal. “
“We have to concentrate now on winning the CAF Super Cup, Egyptian Super Cup; in addition to defending our Egyptian League and CAF Champions League titles.”
Moreover, Maaloul stated that he wished to participate in the bronze medal game; however, he was unable to do so after being injured.
Maaloul was forced to leave the pitch during Al Ahly’s semi-final match against FC Bayern Munich, after suffering a hamstring injury.
Lastly, the Tunisian defender, Maaloul, responded to all the criticism that he faced in the past couple of days by saying that he is not the type of player to fake an injury in order to avoid playing in difficult games.
