New Mansoura headquarters backs Egypt's development vision, says El Khatib
Al Ahly president Mahmoud El Khatib said the club's new headquarters in New Mansoura City supports Egypt's urban development strategy, describing the project as another milestone in the club's history and its national and social role.
Speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony, El Khatib congratulated Egypt's national team, along with its coaching, administrative and medical staff, on their performance at the FIFA World Cup.
He said the team's achievements underscored the importance of investing in sport in line with President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's directives.
El Khatib said Al Ahly's partnership with Delta Capital marks the start of an ambitious development project that aligns with the state's vision for expanding new cities, adding that the club remains committed to its sporting, social and development role.
He described the New Mansoura project as a historic milestone, noting that it will be Al Ahly's first branch outside Cairo. He said the facility would serve residents of the Nile Delta while helping identify and develop sporting talent, in line with the state's objective of supporting young people across Egypt's governorates.
El Khatib said Al Ahly has pursued a national mission since its founding in the early 20th century and has established itself as one of the region's leading multi-sport clubs.
He noted that the club currently operates branches in Gezira, Nasr City, Sheikh Zayed and New Cairo, with New Mansoura marking its first expansion beyond the capital.
He added that Al Ahly would continue to identify and nurture young talent, citing Hamza Abdelkarim's move to Barcelona as an example of the success of the club's youth academy.
El Khatib said Al Ahly is not only a football club but also an integrated sports and investment institution with plans to grow its revenue through its various companies.
He added that work on the club's new stadium project, as well as development and construction across all its branches, is continuing.
