Al Ahly sign contract to build New Sohag branch
Al Ahly signed a contract on Tuesday to establish their sixth branch and their “first in Upper Egypt” in New Sohag City, as part of the club’s plan to expand geographically and strengthen their presence across Egypt’s governorates.
The signing was attended by club president Mahmoud El Khatib, vice president Yassin Mansour, board members Tarek Kandil, Sayed Abdel Hafiz, Ahmed Hossam Awad, Ibrahim El Amary and Rowida Hesham, and executive director Saad Shalaby.
The contract was signed through Al Ahly Sports Facilities Company, headed by Tamer Nasr, in partnership with ‘EBNY Real Estate Development’, headed by Abdallah Kamel, which is one of the largest real estate developers in Upper Egypt.
The new branch will cover approximately 30 feddans and is expected to include a range of sports, social and service facilities, providing an integrated venue for club members and services for a large number of fans in Sohag governorate.
The New Sohag branch will include a main social building, an administrative building and a swimming pool complex, as well as football pitches, basketball, volleyball and handball courts, tennis courts and a gym. It will also have facilities for the youth sector and academies.
The branch is an important step in Al Ahly’s strategy to expand beyond Cairo and extend the club’s services to people in Upper Egypt.
It will also provide an integrated sporting environment to help discover and develop talent across the governorates, in line with the Egyptian state’s 2045 vision to establish and develop sports and service facilities.
