Thorup addresses players as Al Ahly step up preparations for Ceramica game

Al Ahly’s first-team football squad continued their training on the club’s pitch at the Nasr City branch as part of preparations for their upcoming match against Ceramica Cleopatra, scheduled for Friday in the Egyptian League Cup.

Head coach Jess Thorup held a lecture with the players, outlining key aspects of the match preparations and discussing several tactical points the technical staff are keen to implement.

The session began with a series of physical drills before moving on to specialized exercises, with a strong focus on defensive organization.

Yassin Marei, Ashraf Dari, Ahmed Abdeen, Ahmed Ramadan “Beckham,” and Mostafa El Ash stood out during this phase.

The coaching staff also oversaw an intense training match to rehearse various in-game scenarios, while goalkeepers completed a diverse training session as part of the technical program.

Al Ahly are set to face Ceramica Cleopatra at 8:00 p.m., local time, on Friday in the second round of the group stage of the Egyptian League Cup.
