Al Ahly resume training ahead of ZED FC game

Al Ahly’s first football team resumed training on Tuesday evening at Mokhtar El Tetsh Stadium at the club’s Gezira headquarters, in preparation for their game against ZED FC.

The Red Eagles’ players were given time off following Sunday’s 3-2 victory over Al Sharqia Enppi in the opening round of the Egyptian Premier League.

Head coach Hussein Ammouta held a brief team meeting before the start of the physical training session, overseen by fitness coach Renato.

The goalkeepers, meanwhile, underwent a variety of drills under goalkeeping coach Joey Botver.

The players also worked on several specialised drills before the coaching staff organised a competitive practice match as preparations continued for the upcoming fixture.

Al Ahly will face ZED FC in the second round of the Egyptian Premier League at Cairo International Stadium at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT) on Friday.
