Sami Komsan, Al Ahly’s football first team assistant head coach, spoke following the team’s impressive victory against Ismaily on Wednesday.
The Red Eagles were able to achieve an important 4-0 against Ismaily, at Borg Al Arab Stadium in our Egyptian Premier League opener, thanks to a goal from Ali Maaloul, brace from Percy Tau and a goal from Ahmed Abdelkader,
Here is what Komsan had to say about the game:
“It’s very important to start off the league campaign with a win. The team preformed exceptionally well tonight. They were well prepared for the game and they were fully focused on having a strong start.”
“We still have a long road to go. We expect a tough competition as we will be overwhelmed with games, aside from the fact that all teams will be motivated to win.”
“It was clear that we changed our formation in today’s game. Also, we got to see how the new players will blend into the team. Tau, Miquissone, Abdelkader, and all the rest of the team put on a good performance tonight.”
“In the same time we had Kahraba and Mohamed Sherif on the bench tonight. Also, we had several absences like: Mohamed El Shenawy, Walid Soliman, Mahmoud Wahid, and Mahmoud Metwally.”
“Finally, I would like to see our fans supporting us throughout the upcoming period; especially, that we managed to accomplish great things in the last two years.”
