Al Ahly honors African handball champions, men’s and women’s teams

Al Ahly’s board of directors, headed by club president Mahmoud El Khatib, held a major ceremony on Thursday evening to honor the men’s and women’s handball teams following their recent achievements.

The ceremony was attended by Hassan Moustafa, president of the International Handball Federation (IHF), and Khaled Fathy, president of the Egyptian Handball Federation.

The event opened with the national anthem, followed by a documentary highlighting both teams’ campaigns in recent competitions and their journeys to the podium.

El Khatib then addressed the gathering, praising the players for delivering an outstanding achievement worthy of the club, its members and its supporters.

The men’s team was honoured after winning the African Club Championship in Angola for the fourth consecutive time and the ninth time in the club’s history.

The team also claimed the bronze medal at the IHF Men’s Club World Championship, hosted by Egypt recently.

Al Ahly’s board also celebrated the women’s first team after they won the African Club Championship in Angola for the second time in the club’s history.
