Abdelhafiz Comments on FCWC’s Bronze Medal Game
Sayed Abdelhafiz, the club’s director of football, spoke on Friday about our bronze medal game against Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia in the FIFA Club World Cup (FCWC).
In an exclusive interview with us, Abdelhafiz talked about the team’s preparations for the game and provided us with the latest updates on our injured players.
“I expect tomorrow’s game to be a tough one, as both teams are the champions of their continent and will be looking to win the bronze medal.”
“We had high hopes in reaching the final; however, that’s something of the past. We are now concentrating on the present. Hopefully, we will put on a great performance tomorrow and win the bronze medal.”
“We faced a lot of difficulties prior to the start of the competition and despite that, we were able to reach the semi-finals by defeating C.F. Monterrey in our first match of the tournament.”
“As for Mohamed El Shenawy, our goalkeeper, there is a possibility that he will be able to play against Al Hilal of Sudan in the CAF Champions League; while, Percy Tau, our forward, will most likely be ready to play against Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League.”
“We have a tough period coming up. We aim to win the CAF Champions League title for the third consecutive season; however, that won’t be easy as every team will be looking forward to pulling up a strong performance against us.”
“As for our participation in the EPL Cup, I believe that there are a lot of positives out of the tournament. We saw how well our youth players performed such as: Ziad Tarek and Mohamed El Maghrabi. They are a good addition to the senior squad.”
