Abdelhafiz Reflects On Ahly’s Win Over Raja

Sayed Abdelhafiz, the club’s director of football, spoke following Al Ahly’s 2-1 victory over Raja Casablanca in the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals. 

In his post match interview, Abdelhafiz commented on the team’s performance in Saturday’s game and gave his opinion on Al Ahly’s chances of qualifying to the next round.

“We were unlucky tonight. We had more than one chance to score and increase the result. However, we were unable to convert those chances to goals. That’s football.”

“As of right now, we have the lead going into the second leg. We know what to expect in Morroco. Of course, qualifying to the semi-finals won’t be easy but I believe that we have it takes to qualify.”

“We will have a recovery session on Sunday and then rest on Monday before traveling to Morroco on Tuesday morning.”

“Finally, we have to turn the page on what happened today and focus only on Friday’s game against Raja in Morroco.”
