Abdelkader Opens His Account in African Competitions

Ahmed Abdelkader had a special night on Friday as he played an important role in our win over Al Merrikh in the CAF Champions League. 

The midfielder entered the game when the score was 1-1 and ten minutes later we were leading 3-1, with Abdelkader scoring the third goal. 

Abdelkader's goal is his first in African competitions for the Red Eagles and ironically it came two minutes after our 600th goal in African competitions, which was scored by Mohamed Sherif. 

“I’m very happy to score with Al Ahly for the first time in an African competition.”

“Thanks God we were able to win. The substitutions made an impact, not only me but all my teammates played a role in changing the result.”

“We still didn’t qualify yet. We have an important game against Al Hilal and we will do our best to qualify for the next round of the competition.”
