Egyptian security authorities have approved Al Ahly’s request to host a full-capacity crowd at Cairo International Stadium for Saturday’s CAF Champions League group-stage opener against Algeria’s JS Kabylie.
Al Ahly thanked the Ministry of Interior and security officials for granting the approval, saying the move will help ease fan attendance and bolster support for the team.
"The decision underscores the continued backing provided by security bodies for Egyptian sides competing in continental competitions," the club’s executive director Saad Shalaby said.
The record 12-time Champions League winners, Al Ahly, were drawn into Group B alongside Tanzania’s Young Africans, Morocco’s AS FAR, and Algeria’s JS Kabylie.
